Today Mimi and I had a little "mother/daughter time" while Charlie was at Kid Art camp and Cooper was napping. She wanted to go to Club Libby Lu. For me, the high point of taking her out was seeing her prance all through the mall, pulling out everything pink in her view, saying "Ooh La La! Mommy, this is POSH!" (If you have read the book "Fancy Nancy" you know where this comes from.) She really cracks me up-- she loves being goofy and girly, especially when she is apart from her brothers. When she is around Charlie, she is often in "survival mode", so it is nice to get her away every now and then for some one-on-one time.
As you can see from the photo, Mimi got the "Move Over Cinderella" makeover-- she promptly hated her hair and wanted to have it taken down as soon as we left the store! She also nabbed some "High School Musical" lipgloss and a lunchbox. To top it all off, some fab sparkly purple shades!
The kids are SO excited about the premier of "High School Musical 2" tomorrow night. They already have the entire first movie memorized. It reminds me of being that age and loving "Grease" -- wanting to be Olivia Newton John and dancing around the living room with my imaginary microphone. Thankfully, High School Musical is much more innocent than Grease! But I'm sure we will all be singing the songs in our sleep for the next several months. . .
