since charlie managed to neglect his beta fish, "Dash," literally to death, our family has been without a family pet. but we recently noticed that our 'family spider' has returned yet again, building her web in the exact same spot it has been in for the past year or so.
she is VERY large -- at least 3 -1/2 inches from end to end, and has woven a very large and interesting web. she is a yellow and black garden spider, harmless, even though she looks pretty scary. it is like having our very own science project outside our window -- we can watch her catch bugs, wrap them in her web and eat them. pretty cool, actually!
we still haven't decided on a name ... mimi really likes 'charlotte', but isn't that a little cliched for a spider?
